A platform for thought, dialogue & democratic values
Verbattle is a thinking organisation established to improve the quality of thinking among children, young people and society. It uses debate, dialogue, public speaking, training, competitions and intellectual activities as tools to develop logical thinking, critical thinking, leadership, communication and responsible public conduct.
Verbattle is constituted through two complementary verticals: Verbattle Foundation (charitable and social-impact work) and Verbattle, the Thinking Company (enterprise programmes and services). Both share a common origin, philosophy and mission while serving different operational purposes.
Mr. Deepak Thimaya, Founder and Chief, coined the word “Verbattle” in 2005. Verbattle began with a state-level competition in Karnataka and has since conducted hundreds of large-scale competition events across Indian states, national platforms and international programmes.
Verbattle Foundation promotes debate and dialogue for public benefit, youth leadership, democratic values, teacher training and outreach. Verbattle, the Thinking Company, delivers academies, competitions, courses and institutional programmes on a sustainable professional basis.

Verbattle Foundation is a professional global debate education and promotion organization. Verbattle was born out of the need to make our society; democratic in approach, responsible in thinking and accountable in action, in addition to emphasis on civilized behaviour. Verbattle has been working with various sections of the society to achieve this objective. Verbattle has concentrated its work on children and youth with the hope that these sections of the society can give better and earlier results. Verbattle has achieved much of its objective with the tremendous response it has received for its activities and programs, especially the Verbattle Debate Competition.
Verbattle Foundation, is an international non-profit organization with partners in the United States of America, the European Union, India and Canada. Verbattle is a registered trademark owned by Verbattle Foundation. All donations to Verbattle Foundation are tax exempt under section 80G in India.
Verbattle Foundation has been set up to instil qualities of tolerance and understanding in the society, with its sublime goal to work as an effective tool for conflict resolution.
Verbattle organises one of the biggest intellectual activities as a knowledge sport, for children and youth, through its unique and internationally-acclaimed debate format.

As an ultimate goal, Verbattle would be involved in the spread of democracy throughout the world for the establishment of vibrant and practical democratic processes and systems in all aspects of private and public functions.

Over more than two decades, Verbattle has conducted numerous large-scale debate and speech competitions for school and college students, alongside training programmes for children, teachers and mentors.

From Karnataka to South India and beyond
Verbattle, established in 2005, began with a state-level competition in Karnataka. It has since conducted hundreds of large-scale competition events across Indian states, national platforms and international programmes, including South India-level competitions such as Verbattle South from 2012 onward.
Verbattle employs language, logic, democratic values and competitive thinking to develop better thinkers, responsible speakers and civil leaders — with debate and public speaking as tools and thinking as the purpose.
